Amount of grant

The amount of the establishment grant may vary, depending on the recipient's level of training. It is determined as follows:

• $40,000 for level 1 training: a Bachelor's of Science in agricultural or a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in farm business management (GEEA) or a recognized equivalent;
• $30,000 for level 2 training: a DCS in agriculture (other than an equivalent to GEEA) or a recognized equivalent;
• $20,000 for level 3 training: a Secondary School Vocational Diploma (SSVD) in agriculture or a recognized equivalent.

Have you acquired training since establishing your farm business?
If you have completed some recognized training in the framework of the Financial Support Program for Aspiring Farmers, and your farm business has been established for under seven years, you may be entitled to an additional amount of grant money.
