Does your business qualify?

General conditions of eligibility
For your business to qualify for the Financial Support Program for Aspiring Farmers, you must meet the following conditions:

• Be at least 18 and under 40 years of age;
• Have some recognized training;
• Be starting out in agriculture as a primary activity;
• Hold at least 20% of the company's shares;
• Count at least one year's relevant experience in agriculture;
• Have a potentially profitable start-up or establishment project;
• Abide by the environmental standards set forth in the Environment Quality Act (R.S.Q., chapter Q-2) and the Agricultural Operations Regulation, including the requirements involving the phosphorus report and the operating rights.
