To be eligible for the program, you must:
- own an apple business.
- be enrolled in the Farm Income Stabilization Insurance Program for the 2017-2018 insurance year.
- have carried out an eligible replanting project.
A replanting project is eligible if it is carried out between April 1, 2017 and May 30, 2021, and meets one of the following two conditions:
- It is eligible under Phase 2 - Support for replanting apple trees under the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation's Programme de modernisation des vergers de pommiers au Québec (Quebec Apple Orchard Modernization Program).
- The replanted area has a minimum density of 450 trees per hectare and the planted apple trees are insured under the Crop Insurance Program’s Apple Trees - Plan A coverage, from the time of planting until the date the program expires.
The area cannot be replanted with the following cultivars:
- Black McIntosh
- Britemac
- Imperial Red McIntosh
- Early McIntosh
- Macspur
- Morspur
- Novamac
- Red Mac
- Rogers Red McIntosh
- Saint-Hilaire McIntosh
- Summerland
- Sweet McIntosh
- Golden Delicious
- Red Delicious
- Early Gold
- Golden Supreme
- Jonagold de Coster
- Honey Gold
- Jersey Mac
- Lodi
- Marshall
- Melba
- Pioneer
- Senshu
- Summer Red
- Vista Bella
