COVID-19: Answers to your Questions

La Financière agricole is closely monitoring the situation experienced by agricultural producers as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Below, you will find answers to frequently asked questions.

Services Offered by La Financière agricole du Québec

In this time of crisis, are your services being maintained? 

In order to comply with the directives issued by the government, our services are maintained by email, telephone and through your online file. We are doing our utmost to respond to you efficiently.

Can I come to my service centre in person to bring documents? 

In order to protect the health and safety of agricultural producers and staff, it is strongly recommended to avoid traveling to service centres until further notice. Instead, use e-mail, telephone or your online file.

I'm having trouble getting in touch with my advisor. What can I do? 

Telephone networks are currently in very high demand. These technical problems are temporary and we are relaying them to our supplier. Please know that our advisors are here and available for you. If you are having difficulty reaching your advisor by telephone at the moment, you can always contact your service centre by e-mail. You will find the link to your service centre's email on the Contact Us page.

What is the contact information for a service centre?

Is my online file still accessible? 

Your file is always accessible. If you are having difficulty accessing your file, please contact On-line File Support.

Insurance and Income Protection

In the current context of COVID-19, what recent insurance and income protection measures have been announced?

Is it possible to accelerate AgriStability payments? 

AgriStability interim payments are available under certain conditions. If you are experiencing financial hardship, you can apply to receive these payments quickly.

Will Farm Income Stabilization Insurance Program (ASRA) payments continue to be made according to the established payment schedule? 

Yes, if you are a cattle or pig producer, you will receive the final payments for the 2019 insurance year as scheduled in April. For sheep producers, the 2019 final payment will be made in May.

For grain and canola producers, the second compensation advance for the 2019 insurance year will be paid in April.

Once I have made my AgriInvest and Agri-Québec deposit, how long will it take for me to receive the government contribution? 

Once you have submitted your contribution, the maximum delay before receiving the government's contribution is 10 days.

I need to update my insurance file with my advisor, particularly to discuss my crop insurance policy coverage levels. Can I do this despite the current situation? 

As usual, you can reach your advisor either by e-mail or by phone. However, a trip to a service centre is not recommended.

How can I validate my ASRA file regarding the final payment? 

All the information is in your online file. This allows you to follow the progress of your file and potential income on a daily basis. If you do not have an online file, go to the How do I register to the on-line file? page to find out how to proceed.

Financing

In the current context of COVID-19, what recent financing measures have been announced?

A moratorium on loan repayments of up to six months has been announced. How do I take advantage of this
moratorium? 

  • The moratorium was introduced for companies facing temporary financial difficulties.
  • You must apply with your financial institution, through your account manager. They will be able to explain the various terms and conditions to you. Your FADQ advisor can help you through this process.
  • If your situation requires a specific intervention, you must contact your FADQ advisor to find a suitable solution.

What if my construction project is now on hiatus? What happens to my loan and interest payments? 

We invite you to contact your service centre advisor to see what options are available to you in this particular case.

I recently applied for a loan, how long will it take? 

Our services are maintained. Our programs remain. We will do our utmost to respond in a timely manner.
