Financial Information Collection

What is the financial information collection process?

Information gathered through financial information collection is used to process the different programs in which you participate and that are administered by La Financière agricole du Québec.

Every year, La Financière agricole gathers its clients’ financial information in order to manage the following programs:

By using the processing tool, you get modern service delivery and simplified transmission of your financial information in a secure computerized environment.  In addition, the amount of correspondence from La Financière agricole is reduced and our involvement with you better harmonized.

Your responsibilities during the year

2019 Deadlines

The information must be transmitted at the latest nine months after the end of your fiscal period. This information is always shown on the documents requesting financial information.

For the 2019 collection period, here is the table of deadlines that apply:

* As announced on September 25, 2020 (in French), the penalty date for late filing of financial information has been postponed. This deferral applies to producers whose fiscal year-end is December 31, 2019. There will therefore be no penalty if declarations are received on or before October 31, 2020. The filing deadline to be eligible for AGRI programs remains December 31, 2020. This measure has been taken to help you through the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Please note also that if you transmit your information beyond the ninth month following the end of your fiscal period, a penalty will apply. For more details, see the Table of Penalties.

For the 2019 collection period, here is the table of penalties applying to programs when transmission deadlines for financial information are exceeded:
Program Penalty Period in which penalties apply
AgriStability $500 per month or part of month late. From the 10th to 12th month following the end of the fiscal period. Ineligible for AGRI beyond the 12th month.
AgriInvest et Agri-Québec 5% a month or part of month late. From the 10th to 12th month following the end of the fiscal period. Ineligible for AGRI beyond the 12th month.
Farm Income Stabilization Insurance (ASRA) Compensation is reduced by 40% per relevant year according to the sector — animal or plant product — and the date of the end of the business’s fiscal year for a business that does not participate in the AgriStability program. Not applicable
Loan Guarantee — Protection Against Interest Rate Hikes Possible suspension of the protection against interest rate hikes. Beyond the 9th month
Loan Guarantee — Investment Line of Credit Possible suspension of any further disbursements from the Investment Line of Credit. Beyond the 9th month
