Financial Information Collection

What is the Financial Information Collection Process?

Data gathered through the Financial Information Collection Process (FICP) is used to process the different programs in which you participate and that are administered by La Financière agricole du Québec (FADQ).

Target programs

Every year, La Financière agricole gathers its clients’ financial information in order to manage the following programs:

FICP benefits

Secure entry tool

By using the processing tool, you get modern service delivery for the transmission of your financial information in a secure computerized environment. In addition, the amount of correspondence from La Financière agricole is reduced and our involvement with you better harmonized.

Personalized financial analysis

By transmitting your financial data, if you have financing products you will obtain a personalized financial analysis through the online file. This analysis provides an overall picture of your operation's financial situation over a five-year period and compares it with other enterprises in the same sector.

Your obligations as an agricultural producer

If you are a participant in one of these programs you will receive, a few days after the end of your fiscal year, a letter requesting financial information for the current year of participation, along with General Information and the Table of Productive Units.

Meeting your obligations

To meet your information collection obligations, you must

  • Fill in the General Information form yourself.
  • Check the Table of Productive Units and add the missing crop or animal productions exploited by your operation.
  • Submit the completed documents to your certified preparer or ensure that you meet the submission requirements.

Consult sections 4 and 5 of the Financial Information Reporting Guide for instructions on completing the documents. (Work kit in French only.)

As a business owner, you are the most knowledgeable person to respond and ensure data accuracy.

Submit your financial and other information by the prescribed deadline

The financial information must be sent to the FADQ using the data entry tool available via the "Login" tab in the upper right corner. To do this, you can

  • Do business with any financial information preparer accredited by the FADQ, located in all regions of Québec, and submit your duly completed documents to this certified professional.
  • Provide the requested information yourself while respecting the requirements of the Financial Information Reporting Guide described above, including the following:
    • The financial statements of the farm business have been prepared by a certified accountant or preparer.
    • The financial statements have been prepared on an accrual basis or, if they have been prepared on a cash basis, information regarding accounts payable and accounts receivable by revenue and expense commodity must be provided.
