AgriStability
If, for any given participation year, the production margin drops by more than 30% of the reference margin, the margin decline will be offset (70%) by a payment from the AgriStability program. The participation year is the year in which your business operation's fiscal period ends (or fiscal periods end).
Total AgriStability and Agri-Québec Plus program payments may not exceed $3 million for the same participation year.
Corresponds to the participation year production margin, which corresponds in general to the difference between the operation’s farming income and its variable expenses during the fiscal period.
Corresponds to the average production margin of the previous five years, excluding the highest and lowest years. However, for the 2018 and 2019 program years when the average allowable expenses was lower than the average production margins, the reference margin used is the higher value between the average allowable expenses and 70% of the reference margin.
Under certain conditions, you can request an interim payment. An interim payment makes it possible to receive program payments more quickly, without having to wait for the end of the fiscal period.
When entering your financial information, your accredited preparer can calculate an estimate of the benefits you are entitled to under the AgriStability program. This option is built into the financial information processing software. The module reproduces the automated processing operations, providing an estimate of your benefits even before we process your file.
You must submit a phosphorus report to the Ministère du Développement durable, de l'Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques by May 15 of every year. If your report does not comply or if you fail to submit it, penalties apply.
