Carbon Pricing Cost Reimbursement Program for the Agricultural Sector
This two-year program is intended to provide financial assistance to reimburse Quebec farm businesses, regardless of production type, for costs incurred as a result of carbon pricing in 2026–2027 and 2027–2028.
It provides for payments to producers to temporarily offset carbon pricing costs associated with the consumption of fossil fuels on the farm, pending the development and implementation of a permanent measure.
This measure replaces the second payment, scheduled for spring 2027, under the Initiative to Support the Competitiveness of the Agricultural Sector.
No action is required on the part of farm businesses.
Any business that participates in one of the AGRI1 programs, is eligible to receive a payment under any of those programs for the participation year covered by the payment and has declared fuel expenses will be automatically enrolled in the Program.
