Initiative to Support the Competitiveness of the Agricultural Sector
This two-year initiative is intended to support the competitiveness of Quebec farm businesses producing cereals, grain corn and oilseeds that have borne the costs of carbon pricing on greenhouse gas emissions in recent years.
It provides for payments to producers to partially offset carbon pricing costs associated with the use of farm machinery on their land.
This temporary assistance is provided by the Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation under the 2030 Plan for a Green Economy to support farm businesses until farm climate plans are implemented to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change.
No action is required on the part of farm businesses.
