You can qualify your operation for our Financial Support Program for Aspiring Farmers if you meet the following criteria:
- Are domiciled in Quebec and are Canadian citizens or permanent residents under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (S.C. 2001, c. 27);
- Are at least 18 years of age but not yet 40;
- Have some recognized training;
- Own at least 20% shares in the operations;
- Develop a project with permanent, productive structures that offer prospects for the future;
- Demonstrate that the farming business can generate, within 60 months of the grant confirmation date, and for a maximum of five aspiring farmers at a time, income of:
- $30,000 for a 1st aspiring farmer, until June 30, 2028*
- $50,000 for a 1st aspiring farmer, as of July 1, 2028*
- $100,000 for a 2nd aspiring farmer*
- $150,000 for a 3rd aspiring farmer*
- $200,000 for a 4th aspiring farmer*
- $250,000 for a 5th aspiring farmer*
*It must be a new aspiring farmer.
